League Format

12 teams in the FTL (Futsal Tokyo League)
2022 Season: April~October
Teams play around 6 round robin tournaments (once a month)

League Levels

The 12 league teams are split into 2 levels: Gold and Silver
2 round robin tournaments happen every month: 1 Gold Level and 1 Silver Level

After every tournament:

The winning team from the Silver level tournament is promoted to Gold level.
The last place team from the Gold level tournament is relegated to Silver level.

Point system

Points within tournaments is standard, W = 3, D = 1, L = 0.

2022 LEAGUE season points are based on a team's RANK in each tournament (similar to Mario Kart or Formula 1).

League points are NOT based on cumulative points from matches (like in traditional football leagues).

Gold Tournaments:

Rank League Points

1st = 15

2nd = 12

3rd = 10

4th = 9

5th = 8

6th = 7

No participation = 0 points

Silver Tournaments:

Rank League Points

1st = 8

2nd = 7

3rd = 6

4th = 5

5th = 4

6th = 4

Teams with the most League Points by November win the 2022 Futsal Tokyo League!

Players

Every month, players can join both the silver and gold league tournaments (2 players max in your team per month).

Ownership: No team 'owns' their players. If a team's player wishes to join another team the next month, it's their choice.

We hope players display loyalty to your team/community, but sometimes it's just not the right fit for them.

COVID and holidays

All teams will be allowed to take a tournament ‘off’ (in case of Covid outbreak in team, holiday schedules of players, extenuating circumstances, etc.). You'd receive points based on average ranking (TBC).
